Some products may reduce the effectiveness of Guaifenesin.  These have been mentioned:

Skin cream that contains aloe or herbs.

Aspirin or other products that contain salicylic acid. 

Herbal products that contain ginseng, St. John's wort, gingko biloba, saw palmetto, blue-green algae, Echinacea, or noni juice.

Throat lozenges with menthol, mint, peppermint or spearmint. 

Ben Gay, Myoflex, Zostrix, and other pain creams that contain capsaicin or capsicum.

Skin cleanser or exfoliants that use salicylic / betahydroxy acids.

Shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, lotion, moisturizer, makeup and hairspray that contain plant derivatives.

Sunscreen or sun tan lotion with aloe or salicylates.

Shaving razors with aloe glide strips.
