Fibromyalgia - What is it, Really?
1. Fibromyalgia symptoms are caused by excess, viscous (too thick) Serous Fluids (Synovial fluid, serum, vaginal lubrication, interstitial fluid, saliva, etc.) being unable to flow throughout the body normally.
An enzyme, Hyaluronidase, controls the viscosity of Hyaluronan. The most obvious example of this is vaginal lubrication being thinner or thicker at different times of the month.
In those with FMS, Hyaluronidase is not correctly controlling the viscosity of Hyaluronan.
Serous Fluids are the natural lubricant, conditioner and nutrient-deliverer for all body tissue. The overly-viscous Serous Fluids cannot reach all areas of the body to maintain them. For instance, in the spine, this problem allows discs to become soft and lose shape and fail (bulge). In joints, the lack of lubrication and nourishment allows premature wear of the cartilage.
Tender Points correspond with the points at which the arteries branch from larger to smaller to smaller throughout the body, more specifically with the related lymphatic beds.
The arterial capillaries produce Serous Fluid. It oozes out of the capillaries and enters body tissue. But in those with FMS, there it stalls. The Serous Fluids do not leave through the lymphatic capillaries, to the lymph bed and on out.
The stalled Serous Fluid is not outside its normal location, and is perfectly clear, so this malfunction had never been detected in blood tests, CTscans, MRI, Xray or physical exam. It might be possible to detect its movement with contrast media.
2. The impaired circulation of this critical, restorative fluid results in Irritable Bowel Syndrome, hair loss, several kinds of female reproductive malfunctions including Infertility, Fatigue, Pain, and other body deterioration, including joint degeneration, vertebral disk softening and bulging, and weakness in joints. Whatever the Serous Fluid can't reach breaks down and cannot function correctly.
3. This deterioration is reversed when body-wide congestion is reduced with expectorants and decongestants, allowing the Serous Fluid to reach all body tissues. In the majority of people we have talked to, the Serous Fluid is too acidic and needs to be counteracted.
4. The too-thick Serous Fluid cannot get out of the body in the normal fashion as waste, perspiration, etc.
5. Restless Leg Syndrome (due to extreme sleep loss), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (while still viral) and at least some cases of Gulf War Syndrome may be variations of the same problem. Some other very serious illnesses, such as pulmonary fibrosis and OCPD, may be related.
6. Sufferers do not get physically- and mentally- restorative sleep due to an over sensitivity to light and sound.
7. The lack of Serous Fluid circulation starves the brain, causing Brain Fog. It can lodge in narrow sinus pathways and expand - headaches result; this deficiency starves other areas, causing pain, weakness and loss of coordination.
These statements are based on my first-hand experience with extremely severe Fibromyalgia and the effects of the treatment I developed and am using that reverses the symptoms. They are confirmed by feedback from hundreds and hundreds of others using this treatment method and their experiences with FMS, RLS and CFS.
These beliefs and treatment represent an extreme departure from many of the commonly-held ideas about Fibromyalgia.
As of August, 2006, we have still not heard of any treatment other than the FibroFix method that reverses all symptoms, re-establishes body self-maintenance, and restores physical, intellectual and emotional health.
Here are the symptoms I had BEFORE and have if not on this treatment:
Brain Fog -
Could not concentrate, remember or talk clearly.
Forgot where I was driving. All I could do was drive home to sleep.
Stopped at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm on work days for 30 minute naps to "restore" my mind. If I forgot the nap, I wandered aimlessly for hours.
Could not wake completely during the day, nor go completely to sleep at night.
Woke up repeatedly each night and could not make myself go back to sleep.
Pain -
Hands and arms, feet, and legs from mid-thigh down burned with pain. They seemed to ache in the muscle and in the covering on the bones. Put my arms and hands in a bag of ice or ran cold water over them for quite a while, several times per day. The pain was as intense as a compound fracture with an ice pick stuck in it.
Loss of Coordination -
Fell and slid on my face on a customer's sidewalk, constantly dragged the toes of my shoes.
Ran into and tripped over things.
Could not open jars or reach for dishes in the cupboard. Dropped everything. Fastening clothing was a challenge.
Pushed the knuckles of my right hand with the side of my left hand to sign my name.
Lost all confidence in my hand / eye coordination.
My hands pulled backwards toward my wrists, palm first.
Used backs of wrists together to hold things, not fingers. Used sides of hands to drive.
Energy -
None. Exhausted all over. Arms and legs seemed to have only a set amount of stored energy.
They felt like they ran out of gas and as if they wanted to fall off from fatigue.
Legs lost coordination and strength. Until I slept again, I had a wobbling gate, swinging my legs forward instead of lifting and stepping forward.
Tender Points -
These spots were much more tender than the surrounding areas. When I was very sick, they were very tender. Since we found the right medications, they are still there, but not tender anymore.
The list of other symptoms I had from April to October, 2000 is almost unbelievable :
yellow scum on teeth

white coat on tongue that shed periodically - often felt like soft sand grains
blistered, irritated tongue on sides, bottom and tip

unhealthy skin - blemishes on face, torso, arms and legs.

nose tender / outbreaks on the sides
overly sensitive to heat or cold
digestive track felt like I had been eating sharp rocks and hot peppers

easily irritated / dissatisfied with work, home and life in general
tender gums / backside of lips and roof of mouth often blistered

calluses and corns on feet that were more painful and irritating

splotchy palms and soles of feet
very dry eyes
greasier skin and waxier ears
dampness and odor in underclothes
stomach muscles seemed out of condition

weight gain
constant snacking, especially on sweets

sensitive to bright sunlight / very sensitive to any sound & smells
nicks bled more easily
balance not able to adjust
no strength or coordination in hands, arms, legs, feet.
lower back ached and did not bend easily
neck stiffened and crackled and was sore with movement
errors in work

muscle tightness / lack of flexibility, especially in legs and back
mucus in nose and throat /closed-up feeling in nose and sinuses
weak, coarse voice
toe and finger joints crackled (at first - stopped after a few weeks)
ground and clenched my teeth during sleep
Progression :
As time went on, tiredness, skin problems, coordination became worse. Pain remained about constant.
Since about July, 2001, if I don't stay right on treatment (not always possible), I fall into a near- vegetative state where talking, walking, and thinking for myself are impossible. It's as though the brain just turns itself off gradually, like a river running dry.
In that condition, I can only answer simple "yes" questions. My brain doesn't strain in the attempt, or stress, it just doesn't participate.
I can know that all I need to do is walk to the next room to take my medicine, but it doesn't happen - nothing does.
The treatment I am using is keeping me normal as long as I follow it exactly, can get the medication I need, and don't run into any unexpected snags.
